Checklist to do and review after getting a divorce.
This handy checklist can help get your personal, financial and legal documents in order after your divorce.
- Driver's License and/or Automobile Registration: Possible name and/or address changes.
- Checking/Savings Accounts and Safe Deposit box changes.
- Credit Agreements: Establish lines of credit individually, including credit cards.
- Health Insurance/Auto Insurance: Make changes as appropriate.
- Life Insurance: Review beneficiaries and benefits.
- Investments: Revise as individual.
- Retirement Plans: Revisit designated beneficiaries.
- Real Estate: Review real estate titles. (Review divorce Decree)
- Will/Trust Agreements: Update current one, or obtain one individually.
- Update all other legal documents.
